Veteran

McKinley Bailey is a veteran of five years of service in the United States Army. While McKinley was a paratrooper with the elite 82nd Airborne Division he led his Tactical Signals Intelligence Intercept Team on more than 120 combat missions in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Serving his Country

From 1999 until his honorable discharge in 2004, McKinley served in the United States Army where he was promoted to the rank of Sergeant at just 20. While a member of the 82nd Airborne Division McKinley served in Joint Operations with the Colombian Military, Iraqi Civil Defense Forces and Police and Afghan, Italian, and Romanian Armies. McKinley was decorated twice for meritorious service during combat operations.

Founder & President of U of I Veterans Assoc.

Most recently he founded and served as President of the University of Iowa Veterans Association. The Association is a non-partisan organization dedicated to helping returning Veterans adjust to University Life and supporting all those who still serve. He also served as a Veterans Advisor in the University of Iowa Veterans Center, an entity that the University created in part as a result of lobbying by the Veterans Association.
